  • Title: Oh! Susanna Author: James Cruze Description: Sheet music published for the "The Covered Wagon" a Paramount Production. Published by the F.B. Haviland Pub. Co. of New York. Featues a photo of Lois Wilson and Johnny Fox as they appeared in the production. 25 cents when new. Fair condition. Price: $30.00



  • Title:Yankee Doodle Dandy author: George M. Cohan Description: This is the sheet music for the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy, starring James Cagney, Joan Leslie, Walter Huston, and Richard Whorf. The front features a picture of Cagney and Cohan. Published byJerry Vogel Music CO., Inc, 112 West 44th Street, New York. Copyright is 1932. The back cover lists the eight other songs in Yankee Doodle Dandy. There is also a special ad urging the pruchase of United States War Savings Bonds and Stamps. Good condition. Bottom right beras the name and address of the store in Lebanon, PA which sold the music and the upper right has the name of the owner in faded ink. $30.00

Contains poems, articles related to music, advertising, as well as sheet music. This copy is in very good condition. $10.00



  • Title: The Etude Music Magazine January 1945. Description: A large format music magazine with colorful and frameable covers. This issue wishes a Victorious New Year to All. Published by Theodore Pressor Co., Philadelphia. Pages 1 to 60. Under the topic of Music and Study is an article entitled, What Nazism Has Done to German Song." Good condition. Some minor damage to bottom edge of cover and the mailing sticker is on the title section of the magazine. $10.00



  • Title: The Etude Music Magazine June 1945. Bold color stands out on this cover. The artwork is quite stylized. Pages 301 to 360. Published by Theodore Pressor Co., Philadelphia. This issue seems to show a change in the way American thinks and reacts. For example, there is an add for Wurlitzer piano on the inside cover which features "How Dixie was Born" and black face musicians. The next advertisement is "What radio will post-war America buy?" for Philco. The back cover features, "Stephen Foster making his first contact with the melodies that would lead him to write America's best-loved folk songs..." This is an ad for Magnavox showing Foster with black minstrels. For a set of ten reproductions of the paintings you could send 50 cents in War stamps to Magnavox. Very good condition except for mailing sticker on title section of cover. $10.00
  • Title: Underneath The Harlem Moon Author: Words by Mack Gordon and music by Harry Revel. Description: Published by De Sylva, Brown and Henderson, Inc., New York. Copyright 1932. The art work is typical of the art deco period with its contrasting colors. Also included with the music is, "It Was So Beautiful" by Arthur Freed and Harry Barris and the back cover includes "I Cannot Tell You Why" by Roy Turk and J. Fred Coots, and "Who'd Believe" by Benny Davis and Harry Barris. Good condition. There is a bit of bending of the top edge of the cover and the leading edge of the middle page. Also, you will note a small defect above the "n" in Underneath. Would make a great graphic for the wall.

There is a sticker above the graphic which shows where the sheet music was purchased. "Steve's Keyboard Sounds, Harrisburg, PA." Although the sticker can be removed, it leaves behind an adhesive mark. Price: $18.00


  • TITLE: There's a Gold Mine in the Sky Author: Charles & Nick Kenny Description: This song was performed by Bing Cosby and he is featured with a horse on the cover. Published by Irving Berlin Inc. of New York. Fair condition. Copyright 1937. Has pencil writing on the inside labeling the notes and the binding had been taped. Price: $30.00



  • Title: The Bells of St. Mary Author: Words by Douglas Furber and Music by A. Emmett Adams Description: This sheet music features a delightful print on the cover. Very romantic. The margin has been stapled. Small tear in the opening margin as well as a fold. Published by Chappell and Co. of New York City. Price: $25.00
