The Brotherhood of Linled Ring was the first of many associations among photographers which intended to bring photography the respect and recognition it deserves as an art form. It was more than a club, but less than a marketing agency. The group was formed by Henry Robinson (1830-1901) in 1892 when he was an old man. It held annual exhibitions of contrived, doctored and unnatural pictires which it called "salons" and numbered George Davison among its members. Estimated basic value: None
