"Breaker Boys Inside the Coal Breaker" was a famous photograph made by master photographer, Lewis W. Hine (1874-1940) about 1910. It depicted children about 8 to 12 years of age doing dangerous, filthy work in a coal processing plant. Hine's ceaseless efforts helped to get laws passed curtailing child labor. He helped raise the American social conscience which successive Republican administrations had stifled in order to exploit cheap labor to benefit the wealthy and privileged class. They're sill getting away with it. Estimated basic value: No Estimate
