A box camera is a simple camera which (to state the obvious) resembles a small box. The term came into use about 1902 when the Brownie model 2 was introduced. It was a small (about 4x8x8) hand held box which Kodak intended for children (brownies). The box camera has a small, slow, fixed-focus lens and a simple, slow (about 1/10 second) shutter. Kodak has been making versions ever since. Estimated basic value: $40
