Frederick Scott (1813-1857) was an English silversmith and
sculptor who became fascinated with photography. In 1851 he
invited the collodion or
wet plate process which revolutionized
photography. It was the first practical system for making multiple
prints from a reliable negative. While he took many photographs,
they are obscure.
